Ebu Gogo - Blain - Sixth Hour

The earliest sightings of the ebu gogo were in Flores, Indonesia. The local villagers told of a small creature that was covered in hair, had long arms, and a stomach that stuck out from their bodies, and protruding ears. We do not know much about how they speak because they have not spoke directly to humans, but they have heard them muttering in the woods. Now that you have a visual on the ebu gogo we are going to look at the non credible and credible to see if the ebu gogo is real or myth.

First there is the non credible information which is the original story of the ebu gogo. The original story says that the ebu gogo would eat everything raw so it would come down and take raw vegetables and crops and some meat that the villagers had. The villagers did not mind him taking food but one day the ebu drew the line by taking a child to its cave and supposedly ate it. The villagers were said to have taken some dry grass to the mouth of the cave and lit it on fire, then threw it in the cave burning the ebu.

Next is the credible information which is the discovery made in the Flores cave in Indonesia. The discovery was made in 1998 by a team led by Michael Morwood of the University of New England they found the skeletal remains of seven hobbits in this cave. Coincidently the cave the remains were found in was supposedly the same cave the villagers found and burned the ebu gogo in. This is some of the only credible information I could find, but based on what you have read what is your opinion.

In my own opinion I do not believe it is a true cryptid in the world. There is only one reason I do not believe in the ebu gogo, and that is the part in the story where the ebu gogo takes the baby. The reason I do not believe that part of the story is because the ebu took all the vegetables and crops it could and wanted and it decided to steal a baby, it does not make sense. As for the discovery in the cave I think it was just a coincidence that they found some hobbit skeletons.
