There are many tales of great beast with powers over the elements, sore the sky, guardians of ancient shrines, or destroy for great power. [or just feel like destroying something because of their nature] Dragons are one of the most mysterious creatures that people still wonder if they are [or were] real or a myth. I believe dragons are real, and are out there just waiting to be discovered.
Dragons are like winged lizards but with an ability to breath fire, [depending on their element of power] some kind or terrifying; there are many ways to describe a dragon. Around the world, there are different stories of dragons, each with their own description in stories, poems, songs, and pictures of dragons. What make dragons magical creatures of legends? If you think about it, a dragon’s anatomy could have been from different animals! For example: birds, alligators, snakes, a pterosaurs, [a winged reptile dinosaur] there’s different possibilities. There are different types of dragons from other countries; for example, in the east, dragons used their powers for good [like China] to help the people and have power over the weather. In the west, dragons were more terrifying and use there power for destruction than good. [during the Middle Ages most likely]
But with no real evidence, some think that dragons never existed and that they were just made-up in stories of legends and myth. The wyvern, hydra, and firedrake were known to have been related to dragons, but they were mistaken. There have been reports seeing dragons, but there is no scientific evidence that proves dragons are [or were] real. There could be a possibility that dragons are hiding from man-kind; places that people can not reach. Maybe in the deepest ocean, jungle, or in a cavern. But with no real good evidence, many people think dragons were just in our imagination; out of fear. When people think of dragons, some think they are terrifying creatures of destruction that come from our fear. Others think that dragons were guardians [ like the Chinese Dragons ] that would use their powers for good. People have their own way of describing what a dragon would look like. So how do we describe what a dragon would look like? A gigantic winged lizard has been one of its definitions. If we look at the anatomy of a dragon, we can see birds related for flying, scales of a snake, and many animals could be related, even dinosaurs! Some say that dinosaur bones could actually be dragon bones! But it is harder to explain, the bones could have been a prehistoric animal. [ it could be possible! ] There are some cases that dragons are related to the weather. In China for example, some dragons could control the amount of rainfall. There were some stories of strange weather happing that science couldn’t explain, and left ideas that a magical creature caused it.
I believe dragons are real, no matter what people say, I know their out there just waiting to be discovered! Though some say that their scary and evil, part of that is true, some dragons can be evil, but some are kind and gentle. There are many different ways to describe a dragon. The basic is a winged lizard with talon like claws, razor sharp teeth, a scaly body, gigantic size, [ depending on the dragon type ] and can breath fire. [ depends on element of dragon ] Around the world, dragons had to have started somewhere. The most common would be most likely the Chinese and European dragons. Though there may be no scientific evidence on dragons, I believe that there real.
