Centaur - Lacey - Sixth Hour

[Figure 1]
A centaur is a legendary creature of half horse and half man in Greek mythology. The origin of a centaur has many different stories and ideas. The most common story according to Greek mythology is the idea that the first centaurs were offspring of Ixion, son of Ares, and a cloud in the image of Hera. There is significant evidence stating and supporting that centaurs may or may not be real. But I believe that it is impossible for a creature of half human half horse to walk the earth without being genetically altered in some way.

According to Greek mythology Centaurs were born to Ixion, son of Ares who lived in Thessaly a region of northeastern Greece. Ixion fell in love with Hera wife of Zeus. He had a plan to meet and seduce Hera but Zeus herd of this plan and formed a cloud in the image of Hera. Ixion embraced the form, and from that centaurs were created. Also a Greek man by the name of Eratosthenes, who created the constellation, stated and recorded that the star group closest to the earth and third brightest in the constellation depicts a mythological figure of Cheiron who is half man half horse

Although there is strong evidence supporting the theory that centaurs once have walked the earth. Scientific evidence has proven that it is not possible for a human spine to be curved into the form of a centaur. Also there is no way that a human and horse could reproduce without some sort of genetic evolvement. Which was not present two decades ago when centaurs “originated” and still is not present today in modern society?

So now stating evidence from both side everyone still has there opinion. But my opinion still stands. I believe that a Centaur is just a mythological creature that was brought to life. There is no physical evidence that centaurs were ever originated, and science has proven that with out genetic involvement it would not e possible for a centaur to have been created.
