The yeti is a cryptic of mystery and surprise it has been debatable beast for many years. The yeti is creature that resembles a giant white gorilla that lives off of other animals, he supposedly lives in a cave in a snowy region. Many people have claimed to have seen this yeti but no one has been able to capture a credible picture. Throughout the years an unsubstantial amount of evidence has been discovered, as you read this paper you will be introduced to credible and non-credible evidence that may prove or disprove the theory of the yeti.
Also known as the abdominal snowman the yeti’s first credible evidence was discovered in the early 1950’s in the Himalaya Mountains. A group of two British mountaineers, Michael Ward and Eric Shipton, discovered an extremely large footprint in the Himalayas then took a picture of the footprint and compared to their ice axe. As you can see in figure 1 the footprint is about the same height as an axe. The picture was sent to the London Zoological Society and the Natural History Department of the British Museum. They deemed it as a languor monkey or a red bear, but that conclusion has still left many questions unanswered.
About a thousand years ago somewhere in Asia and physician named Yuthok was going to see a patient and then was interrupted by yeti and the yeti took the physician to a young lady who was choking. The lady had a wish bone stuck in her throat and the yeti brought the physician just in the time. Yuthok was able to remove the bone from her throat and save her. Thus the yeti has been a hero in the Chinese culture.
Overall I do not believe that the yeti ever existed because even with all the sightings. The main question that I have is why no one has been able to a get a picture or any physical evidence other than footprints. If the yeti has or still does exist I am sure if captured it will surprise many people that are skeptical, such as myself.
