Have you ever wondered where the idea of ‘King Kong’ and ‘Planet of the Apes’ came from? There are many movies that were made up for these man-like monkeys, but who came up with them? Or better yet has anyone ever really discovered one of these mysterious creatures? There is said to be two sightings, yet only one came back with evidence. Some believe in the de Loy Apes; while others, like myself, do not think the ape even exists.
In the early 1900s, a man named François de Loy set out to explore South America. On one of his expeditions, while he and his men were taking a much needed break; two, five foot tall, human/spider monkey-like creatures walked out of the forest. Both, man and creature were frightened of the other. De Loy’s men grabbed their guns and shot at the male, killing the female. The male ran and vanished back into the forest. De Loy and his men propped her on a box and steadied her head with a stick. They proceeded to take a photo, thus the only true evidence of this creature. When they returned to France, de Loy claimed that the ape had human-like features and 32 teeth, instead of the normal 36. While several zoologists have studied this photo after de Loy’s discovery, all have concluded that it is has so many significant details, that it could not have been faked. The crate that is in the photo is 18-20 inches high, which proves that that ape was indeed five foot.
On the contrary; some zoologists believe that François de Loy ‘discovered’ this unbelievable creature as proof that most major races come from ape anscestry. There was no conclusive evidence of this ape ever being alive; before or after the de Loy sightings. The skull, jaw, and hide were removed and preserved after the photo was taken, all being abandoned on the troublesome trip back. There is no clear evidence of this creature ever being alive. Even if there were a little more evidence found, one fact would remain the same no matter how anyone tries to prove otherwise: there are NO apes in South America. It goes against scientific evolution theories, ALL great apes are found in Asia and Africa.
