Chupacabra - Joceline - Second Hour

[Figure 1]
The Chupacabra (“goat sucker”) is a cryptid that originated in Puerto Rico after a few goats were found dead with puncture wounds in their neck and with the blood drained out of the body. The Chupacabra is known to have large eyes that are usually red or orange in the shape of an egg, a mouth full of big fangs, sharp claws on the hands and feet, spikes or spike-like fins running down the spines, a bipedal stance, webbed arms, and large legs made for jumping. Although people claim to have seen a Chupacabra, I don’t believe in the creature because I have never seen hard evidence of its existence.

On August 31, 2007, Phylis Canion believes she found a blood-sucking Chupacabra as road kill in Texas near her ranch. The animal described by Canion sort of resembled a dog but was mostly hairless, had large ears and big fanged teeth.Canion also claims she has lost 26 chickens in the passed years and believes it is because of this “Chupacabra”. Phylis Canion’s findings aren’t the first time the carcass of a strange animal has been found. In July 2004, a rancher near San Antonio killed a hairless dog-like animal that was attacking his cows. They believed it was a “killer mutant beast” like the Chupacabra.

Some people believe that the Chupacabra was accidently left here when aliens visited Earth. The Chupacabra was a pet to the aliens and the aliens lost it and left it free to hunt the Earth's animals. Others believe that the Chupacabra came from the jungles of South America, where it has lived and people just recently found them a couple of years ago. They usually hunt livestock and even though animals have been found with puncture wounds in their neck and people say they have “seen” a Chupacabra, careful examinations have determined that the Chupacabra that everyone has supposedly seen is from the canine family but is not the actual creature.

The Chupacabra is a cryptid for a reason, and that reason is because they do not have enough evidence to prove that the creature actually exists. I don't believe in the Chupacabra because I have never seen a photo or video of something that even looks similar to what the legend explains to us and because the physical features of this cryptid are unlike any animal I have seen. It is also supposed to be 4 to 5 feet tall on it's hind legs, so why would such a big creature only hunt livestock if it's the size of a human? Information about the Chupacabra does not add up, and therefore I do not believe in the cryptid.
