The Boogeyman - Richard - Sixth Hour

The boogeyman is a creature that lurks in your closet or underneath the bed every night to get the young ones. The question to ask is if this creature is fact, or fiction. This subject is surprisingly debatable considering that there are actual people that believe in this myth. But if it is real then where is the evidence to back this up? Well believe it or not there is evidence that this myth is no myth.

To start of the boogeyman has two names. While people are used to the common name “boogeyman,” another name for it is the “Bodjagee.” In northern Quebec, people claim that this boogieman is an actual figure. They say that he feeds on bicycle riders and that things come up missing from time to time such as fish nets. He has no specific appearance, and is claimed to be a serial killer. People also say that the boogeyman is not just only one person. He has many that spread through out the world. According to sources, it says that the boogeyman is the American version of the goblin. Also, the boogeyman originated from the U.K., then migrated to the U.S.

Although this may seem real, the boogeyman is NOT real. This myth is only for to scare little kids at night so they would behave, or just for the fun. Even though he may scare bicyclists or feed off of them, it could just be the fact that it’s not him, its actual serial killers that you see everyday in the news and the newspapers. If the boogeyman is real then why is it that nobody can identify it?

In conclusion, the boogeyman is a myth until there is enough proof to show that he exist. Even though there has been several sightings and background history about this being, nobody seems to know what he actually looks like. They say that he looks human but that can just be an everyday psycho. The boogeyman is just something to scare off the little kids.
