Yeti - Dan - Fifth Hour

A big giant creature eyes as red as blood, huge in every way cover in white fluffy fur. Claws so big he can pick up buses, Feet twice as big as a bear’s, teeth sharper then a
Shark’s. yeti is the Tibetan name for the abominable snowman, the abominable snowman is a human like monster who can tracks have been discovered in frigid islands near napal and in Tibet. The names Yeti and Meh-Teh are commonly used by the people indigenous to the region and are part of their history and mythology. Stories of the Yeti first emerged as a facet of Western popular culture in the 19th century. I believe that the yeti or abominable snowman is real because of clues left behind.

The main case for saying the yeti exists is that it is is so plentiful in local legends, and is told of in many myths and legends across Tibetan and Nepali folklore.
Added to this the creature is talked of in countless sightings by many people. Of which many are people with big reputations to keep, who were still willing to harm these by telling a wider world that they had seen these creatures, even when there is much skepticism world-wide about a belief in it. The legends of the people of Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan and Tibet talk allot about this species. So how you may say could the Yeti have lasted in this land without being undeniably confirmed as existing by almost a decade into the 21st Century. The argument that the yeti is just another myth like Bunyip, or the Loch Ness Monster, is not a big point. The fact is for all anybody knows they might have some truth about them, like there may have once been a big sturgeon in Loch Ness, and the Bunyip may be based on that cow sized marsupial from over 10,000 years ago, that grazed in Australia. The fact that local people give the Yeti some mythical characteristicts does not make it untrue.

The evidence given is too minor. The biggest piece of evidence given is that which gave westerners the idea to believe in the story of the Yeti in the first place. The fact that local people believe in a wildman existing in the mountains. These legends though can be explained away. As if you look at the legends of the area, the legends actually talk of ghost like supernatural beings, this is not similar to the belief in the Yeti as a wild animal. Local people also talk of the Yeti, and could be talking of bears or the Langur Monkey, or just making things up, people do in Western lands, about being attacked by aliens, so why not do the same in Tibet and Nepal. There is no doubt some westerners have lied, surely that man, who claimed he was nursed to health by Yeti's was telling a tall tale. So surely locals could be lying too. Just like how when you hear people talking about a famous person from their area, or a match loads claim they were there when they could not possibly of all been there or at the place the guy was. We all know in our own lives of people who lie for their own reasons, or say made up things, so why not have this on a large scale in the Yetilands. The locals who do not make up stories, or think they see a creature, will just go along with the myth being true.

Out of all the stories I have read and read and the history of the yeti, to me the yeti could exist. I think people chose to not to believe because they just believe in normal life not other life forms like say the yeti or dragons, werewolves and so on. Even if they is no yeti I think it is great to explore to find out the truth. Also I think it is fun to read the history of legendary creatures anyway so if you don’t believe that’s all up to you but me I am going to believe. There are things in this world we can’t explain so there could be a abominable snowman living somewhere in the Tibetan mountains.
