A banshee is the Irish angel of death. She has long silver hair that she combs while she cry’s and wails for the dead. She comes as a warning of death but she has different warnings for different deaths. If she knocks three times on your door that means someone in your family is going to die if you just hear her wailing that means someone you know is going to die. If you see her in person she is warning you that you are going to die. Some think it’s just a made up folk lord, and some think it haunts you at night when someone is going to die. I think banshees are real and not just a made up story.
Some credible information I found tells a story of a grandmother in Ireland. Her grandson was due for an operation for his triple by pass surgery. As the grandmother stayed up to hear her grandson’s news she went to wait in the kitchen. The whole back wall was vibrating from three loud knocks, one right after another. This is a warning from the angel of death that someone in your family is going to die. Soon after she got a call saying that her grandson died a couple hours after his survey.
There is also some non-credible information I found. A banshee, they say, is attached to a pure blood Irish and that is stays with the family and that’s it. There have been many accounts where they were just a random person. Also there are some pure blood Irish that have never heard or seen the banshee. Which making the “attached to a pure blood Irish family” false.
Is it just a quittance that there was a knocking three times before someone died or was the banshee really there? I don’t believe that this is possible. How would she know if someone is dieing, may be someone had a feeling in the olden days when someone is going to die and that just transformed into stories of banshees. Fake or real; no one may ever know the truth.
